In the last two decades there have been significant breakthroughs in understanding how we learn. However, these aren’t always explicitly taught in the classroom. We seek to help students take smarter notes, build connections between content and their personal lives, and recognize that failure and getting stuck is necessary for cognitive growth. A growth mindset doesn’t magically happen, it is cultivated with these strategies. Past students we have worked with often comment on how these strategies not only helped with their research process, but with other classes they were taking as well.
